Overview
AutoChangelog provides several templates to customize how your changelog looks. You can change colors, fonts, layouts, and more to match your brand. Templates fully affect your public changelog page, while the embed widget and in-app widget inherit only fonts and colors.
Choosing a Template
To change your template, click "Templates" in the menu and select your repository if you have more than one. Browse the available templates and click "Select" on the one you want to use. To customize colors, fonts, and other settings, click "Customize" on any template to open the editor, then click "Apply Changes" when you're done.
Available Templates
We offer several pre-built templates designed for different aesthetics. The Default template is a clean, minimal design that works for most projects. The Cards template displays each entry as a card with shadows and rounded corners. The Timeline template connects entries with a vertical timeline. The Compact template uses a denser layout showing more entries at once. Each template has its own character while remaining professional and readable. If you'd like us to create a custom template for you, let us know.
Customizing Colors
Each template supports color customization. You can set an accent color used for links, buttons, and other interactive elements. Enter colors as hex codes like #10b981 or use the color picker in the template editor.
Dark Mode
All templates support dark mode automatically. Your changelog will adapt to match the visitor's system preference, switching between light and dark themes seamlessly.
Custom Fonts
You can customize the fonts used in your changelog. The heading font is used for entry titles and section headers. The body font is used for paragraph text and lists. We support a selection of popular Google Fonts that you can choose from in the template editor.
Branding Options
Add your own branding to make the changelog feel like part of your product. Upload a logo (with separate versions for light and dark mode if needed) and set its width and position. Add a favicon for browser tabs. Set a custom changelog title and link back to your project's homepage.
Preview Before Publishing
The template editor shows a live preview of your changelog right on the page as you make changes. You can also click "Open in New Tab" to see the full preview in a separate browser tab. When you're happy with the result, click "Apply Changes" to save.
